    Our Health & Safety Guidelines

These Guidelines set out what we are doing to comply with government requirements and to keep the studio as safe as possible for the wellbeing of all clients and teachers.  They take into account the current state of affairs, the particular nature of the close work involved in our studio, our commitment to quality teaching and the needs of the people who come here.
As each of us affects all the others present in the studio with us, we need to lean towards measures that protect the most vulnerable.  They will be updated as circumstances change but only relaxed when it is safe to do so.

Compliance with these Guidelines is mandatory.  If you are unwilling to adhere to the requirements we have set out, we are unfortunately unable to teach you.

If you are planning to join us in the studio, you must read our Health and Safety Guidelines in the link below and send your acceptance to us before you do your first session in the studio.

    Our Philosophy

The Guidelines have been based on the following philosophy:

    1. We are not prepared to lower our standard of teaching or to compromise your safety on the equipment.  To ensure your teacher is fully focused on your work in the studio, you will be responsible for ensuring the equipment and tools you are handling meet your own hygiene standards (ie, you will be cleaning them).  The Guidelines will set out how we have made this as easy as possible.
    2. We want to maximise the time you have in your session, so we have devised some choreography to get you in and out safely so you can have your full hour.  And get changed at the studio.
    3.  As Health Authorities are still discovering more about transmission, we are acting on the current understanding that expiration (breathing out, talking, coughing and sneezing of course) and physical contact are the greatest risks. You all know the example of choirs.  So that our teachers can continue to observe you closely, they will wear masks to keep you safe and we require you to wear a mask to keep them safe.  They will also be minimising any hands-on correction unless needed for safety.
    4. Small props (bands, balls, etc) are essential tools for many of you. We are offering a few options (giving you some, buy your own, clean ours) to allow you to do this where possible.  However, when you are in the studio, the teacher won’t be handling these to avoid contamination, so it will be up to you to manage your props.
We’re confident that, once everyone has adjusted to the new ways, we’ll slip straight back to the happy camaraderie of the studio sessions and it won’t seem onerous at all.  Most of all, we’ll be able to commit to you getting the great Pilates sessions you have been accustomed to and all will be well.
